They say opposites attract, and Chris and Dawn Hollomon couldn’t be more different. But Dawn shares Chris’ love of University of Tennessee football, and Chris doesn’t seem to mind when Dawn sings show tunes in the car.

Chris and Dawn met when they both served on a church staff. They’ve been married for two and a half years. A Scripture important to their marriage is Galatians 5:13: to serve each other in love. Their Lhasa apso, Topher, who made his pictorial debut in the June 2007 issue of HomeLife, rules the roost, Chris’ recliner, and Chris and Dawn’s king-size bed.

Chris is the lead student minister at First Baptist Smyrna outside Nashville, where Dawn serves alongside him as a middle school girls’ small group leader. Chris and Dawn have also made some lasting friendships through their young married couples’ small group.

Dawn has been a copy editor for HomeLife for a little more than a year. She loves being involved in the entire production of the magazine, from planning to writing to editing. Dawn says the most challenging aspect of the job is knowing that, even though she reads each issue several times, mistakes still sometimes get through. As a minister’s wife, “Life of the Party” (p. 54) gave her some great tips for entertaining without the stress.
